So long in fact that the Android OS repeatedly asks whether to force close the slow application. I'm getting Astro to be able to reverse future "downgrades". I have read a total of 10 ebooks using Kindle for Android. With dozens to hundreds of highlights. For 4 of those books my highlights where completely wiped out. That's hours of work gone and a huge disappointment.
Before the last notes crash, I synchronized with the Amazon servers. Yet after the crash, the server didn't contain the notes that I thought I had backed up. Meaning that even though the reading position was properly updated the notes and highlights were actually not copied to the server. When it comes to reading I seen no advantage of the Kindle Android app over for example the small company competitors like Aldiko.
The highlight and notes feature is the ONLY thing that I cannot find there and it is a powerful feature, esp. Yet, despite tens of thousands of employees the Amazon Kindle reader is far from professional, got much worse in the latest version, and regularly wipes out your data and wastes your time.
I went through a drawn out trouble shooting process with Amazon over the phone and the only thing that I got at the end was the useless comment that it was a known bug and that it may be!
